Many times the spouse of an aerial applicator is involved in their family business but may have questions or need support – this is what the Women of Kansas Agricultural Aviation Association is all about.
The WKAAA is a free membership opportunity for the wives and friends of KAAA members. During the annual convention, women can register to participate in motivational and social events including speakers, door prizes, bingo and tours.
WKAAA officers and volunteers are also responsible for organizing an annual legislative and public relations activity, delivering Kansas commodity packets to the state’s elected officials. In 2015 this event was held in conjunction with Kansas Day and next year hopes to be a part of the second annual Aviation Day at the Capital event, held in late January. The WKAAA also provides support when there is an accident or fatality among Kansas pilots, in the form of food, conversation and monetary contributions.
Women involved with aerial application are encouraged to be a part of a positive fellowship organization to find ways to live, laugh and learn among their industry peers. Be sure to have your aerial applicator put the interested woman’s name on their membership form – this is how you join. When convention time hits, be sure to register to WKAAA activities and join the fun.
